Here in the heart of Yorkshire we are lucky to be able to enjoy one of the best shoots in the UK. Run by the Medforth family, it’s a great day out. Raisthorpe Flyers offers every form of simulated shooting. Their grouse butts are realistic; exciting singletons and challenging packs give an authentic feel to what it’s like to be on the moor. Partridge drives are good fun allowing you to shoot your own bird or poach your neighbours. High pheasants come towering over the gun with truly challenging birds. We now come here 2 or 3 times a year, David, Julie, Ollie and Edward and there team are fantastic hosts and make you feel the upmost welcome, the hospitality is first class I’ve shot in a lot of places and this is up there with the finest. It’s nice to be able to go somewhere outside the game season and have the opportunity to shoot an array of different clays to suit everyone’s ability and have the day ran like you are on a game day. Whenever my team have visited Raisthorpe, we have been given such a warm welcome with first class hospitality. The days are relaxed not too formal and there is superb shooting to suit all abilities. The grouse butts take some beating! I recommend these days without hesitation!
